Helen Adams was a driving force in many land management and revegetation porojects on the Tablelands.
This award has been named in honour of Helen Adams, whose passion was working with the whole community ensuring that the catchment was a better place
for all of us to live in.
Helen initiated many revegetation projects; including Mazlin Creek, lobbied council to upgrade the sewage treatment plant, worked along side farmers and educated children to love and respect the environment. Her love of trees has seen many barren areas become vistas overflowing with leaves.
Helen Adams Memorial Award
The Helen Adam’s Memorial Award recognizes innovative environmental practices that are restoring our land and habitats in the Barron Catchment. You may be a farmer, educator, or conservationist helping to restore our soils and water ways. It’s time that your work gets the recognition that it deserves.
Nominations are closed for 2011, but please keep in mind those innovative people who deserve a pat on the back.
